Research Activity
Fellows-in-training are required to lead a clinical research project from conception to publication and defend their research before a formal board.
Historically, research from both Fellows and faculty members has made a strong contribution to the peer reviewed literature on musculoskeletal conditions.
Program research has been recognized at the highest national level: receiving the Rose Excellence in Research Award from the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association in 2000, 2004, 20102015, and 2021; as well as the Geriatric Section Excellence in Research Award in 2002. Additionally, program research has received the AAOMPT Excellence in Research Award in 2000, 2009 and 2019.
